Oh God

For about the last week or so, I've been chatting with an extremely nice lady, Mandy, who did SXR208 a few years ago. She told me yesterday that a friend of hers is also going to be doing the same SXR208 week as me (and Kirsten, and Paul, and a few others). Nice I thought, so I sent this chap, Roy, a message to say hello out of politeness, and oh God... it's The Cat In The Hat from SXR103! (see previous blog entries here and here).

Kirsten and I nicknamed him 'The Cat In The Hat' (or worse words that also rhyme with 'cat'), I also nicknamed him 'Nigel' because he looked like a Nigel (I think I also nicknamed him 'Boris Johnson' because he looked a bit like him too... I'm actually starting to feel a bit sorry for him now!)

He droned on and on about galaxies and stars one night when I was standing outsite nursing a pint in The East Slope Bar, which would have been fine, except for the fact that it was cloudy. Hard work to visualise a galaxy that you can't even see.

Kirsten and I also giggled mercilessly at him during Keith's astronomy optional tutorial, when a photo of 'Nigel', his telescope and his daughter appeared on screen by accident, and I said, "Oh God, it breeds."

I've sent Kirsten a message to let her know... can't wait to see what her reaction will be.
