Plane crazy

Phew... the SXR103 summer school at the University of Sussex was exhausting but tremendously rewarding. At least I haven't come back swearing that I'll never do another residential again!

I took the plunge and booked my flights today. I'm flying with EasyJet from Gatwick at 12pm on 20 March 2010, and returning from Mallorca at 3.50pm on 27 March 2010.

Gatwick is a little far but it's fairly straightforward for me to get to from Birmingham. I could have flown from Bristol airport but the flight times were fiddly and I would have arrived late. I'd sooner be two hours early than a minute late.

I was a little alarmed to find that National Express were not listing any coach journeys down to Gatwick, but after ages of fiddling around I realised that I was probably looking too far in advance. I've more or less made up my mind that I'm going to get to Gatwick by train, as it's quicker. I don't much fancy having to traipse all across London again so I think I'll go via Reading. One change is better than two.
