All packed

I've packed, finally. It has taken two evenings to do it, but it's done at last. And I thought I packed a lot the last time when I did SXR103!

* Course book (wouldn't mind jettisoning it at 35,000 ft but not really an option)
* All 7 project booklets in a binder
* Calculator
* Pens, pencils, rulers, post-it notes
* Palma guide book
* Pentax Optio M40 camera + case + charger
* Olympus E-300 digital SLR camera + spare CompactFlash memory cards + charger
* Spare USB storage drive
* Small foldaway tripod
* Astronomer's torch
* 4 gang extension lead
* UK to Europe main adapter
* Mobile phone charger
* Digital voice recorder + external tie-clip microphone
* 2 packs of 4 AAA batteries
* MP3 player + headphones
* MP3 to PC USB cable
* Laptop + charger + Three broadband dongle (won't work overseas but it will whilst I'm in transit in the UK - plenty of time to kill in the Gatwick departure lounge)
* Toiletries including aftersun
* Corkscrew
* 7 pairs of socks and pants
* 6 T-shirts
* 1 thin sweater
* 1 cardigan
* 1 fleece
* 1 pair of shorts
* 1 pair of combat trousers
* 1 pair of cargo pants

...and of course...
* Sergei

After considerable juggling, I reluctantly packed my large Olympus camera in the suitcase. Fingers crossed nothing will happen to it, but it's all insured, just in case. I feel like I'm taking an absurd amount of electrical equipment.

I had to abandon the idea of taking my hand luggage case, because it simply adds too much to the weight. Plus carting it across London along with a suitcase when I did SXR103 was little fun. I've therefore decided just to pack some items into my laptop bag. It'll also make retrieving my laptop from the laptop bag at Gatwick airport security a little easier.

The suitcase weighs in at 17 kg, the laptop bag now weighs 4 kg. I have always been way way below the maximum luggage allowance, I think this is the closest that I've come to exceeding it.
