1.54am. In the classroom. We have just used some archive data to calibrate, reduce and combine images into usable pictures. Very rewarding. We also learnt to select rogue or problem images, and exclude them from the combining process.
After that, we did some work in Open Office (should have been Excel but these are new machines which haven't had Excel installed on them yet).
Just about to have a demonstration of some of the spectroscope bits and pieces, which will be very useful for our Mercury group tomorrow night.

Our group tutor for the outside observations said that our group worked together really well, which is always lovely to hear. Roy has been worth his weight in gold, and has not pushed or rushed or been bossy. I am happy to have been proved wrong in my initial opinion of him. Indeed, Kirsten and I were a little scathing about him, but he's been fantastic to work with so far.
